Just fyi…this is what mums REALLY want for mother’s day

I'm a reasonably good mother.

I bring the kids to the dentist, I finally got the second-born to try green beans, and I volunteer at the school cake sale. (sometimes) I managed to hold down a job and get three small humans clean, fed and dressed every morning. I bit my tongue when my husband chooses football over the panto, my friends are still in touch and my in-laws haven't discovered I'm a total mess just yet. I am working on this whole 'balance' thing and it is hard. I mostly want to just lie on the couch, eat cheesy toast and watch The Wire all day. Instead, I power-walk to work, I try to do pilates once a week and I try to maintain my correct gut bacteria (eating cheesecake straight out of the fridge doesn't count) So this year on mothers day I look forward to my sloppy kiss and toast in bed with absolute pleasure. But if there was an actual wish list for mums - this would probably be the best mothers day in the world. 1. A coffee IV I'm not saying I'm addicted.....I just need coffee to function in life. This would simply save a lot of time. 2.A Prosecco door-mat Welcome, party friends! Only €23 here 3. My own special unicorn glass Everyone has their own inner unicorn which can now be channelled through these fantastic personalised glasses. Let's move on to the gifts we REALLY deserve: 4. The Cartier Love Bracelet This €5,000 yellow gold bangle can only be taken off with its own special screwdriver. 5.  A trip to Iceland to see the Northern Lights It's just nature so it is practically free. I had three children under the age of four, maybe I deserve to see a few lights in the woods? Just a little? 6. A holistic week long retreat in Ibiza No phones, healthy meals, yoga mornings, all the juice you can drink and sunshine. This is my idea of absolute heaven. The body Bootcamp do an entire transformation week where you can lose weight, get fit and reconnect with yourself. Sign me up. 7. Cashmere Loungewear. Just because.   I'm not sure if I am more excited about the prospect of simply lounging, or my skin being caressed in cashmere. Either way, it is on my ultimate wish list this mothers day. The lovely Lucy Nagle's fancy pants in ice grey are on sale now €145 euro here. 8. Four Diptyque candles  Low key luxury, ahem, and a must-have for every home. These scented lovelies are the fanciest in the whole Marvel room at BT's. Well,  I will have two for my bedroom, one for when I'm having my bath, and a spare in case the children drop it into a hole in the garden. They are the eye-watering price of €270 each. 8. Pet dogs that are best friends along with their own poop attendant I have always wanted a pet dog. Now is the time as my children can mostly clean their own bums. Imagine how fun life would be with these guys. Think of the cute selfies! Pretty please! More amazingly cute dogs on Pinterest 9. A week long cookery course so I become an amazing chef. I'm not saying I'm the worlds best cook, and no one has ever died from my cooking but this request is in a bid for self-improvement. A summer essential course is €45o euro at the Cooks Academy. I'm sure my husband will go splits with you on this one. 10. And finally... We need a drive through Tesco for all our emergency grocery shopping needs. Just a simple girl at heart, really.
