A 20-year-old woman claims that she gave birth in her bathroom, shortly after being diagnosed with constipation by a doctor.
According to The Mirror, Charlotte Bryant from Cardiff in Wales claims that she was misdiagnosed by three GPs before welcoming a baby boy last month.
She says that one gave her painkillers for muscle pain as she was suffering with constant backache while another prescribed her with laxatives for suspected constipation.
She told Wales News Service Ltd: “I was prescribed with a big box of powder laxatives. I went home and took one and then a short time later, I felt an urge to go to the toilet.
“I sat on the toilet and I felt something really odd between my legs. It was like a poo but it felt like it was coming from the wrong place.
“I felt the urge to push and then as I looked down and I saw a face looking at me. It was absolutely surreal.”
She called an ambulance and was taken to University Hospital of Wales. There, her son Joshua was rushed to Intensive Care for treatment for a chest infection. Thankfully, both were later released.
Charlotte claims that she had no idea she was pregnant as she was still having regular periods and felt no movement in her stomach, however she did say that she had put on some weight.
