Guilt free: 10 fab pieces of tableware for kids that are not made from plastic

Unless you have been living under a rock of late, you will no doubt be aware that plastic is a major, and growing problem.

By the year 2050, which really isn’t that far off, experts are predicting that our oceans will have more plastic than fish in them, which I think all of us find disturbing – and really, something which should be a wakeup call to us all.

Avoiding plastic is not easy, but reducing our use of it grately is something we should all aim to do, both for the planet, and also for the fact that plastic is actually also pretty bad news for our health.

It is widely known that plastics from food packaging or storage containers can leach into food and enter the body. And certain reports have found that over 92 percent of people who were tested had detectable levels of BPA and other plastic chemicals in their bodies (including newborn babies).

Yikes.

I have made it my aim this year to rid my house and life of us much plastic as possible – and not buy it again.

One place I have started making the swap is to my children’s tableware – and the good news is, there are so many cute and sustainable alternatives to plastic, you are going to want to do the same:
