Suffer from dry skin? This skincare buy COMPLETELY changed my life

My skin is always on the dry side.

Which means I very very rarealy break out, but on the flip side, my skin is far more likely to feel itchy, irritated and sensitive. And just so dry that I am tempted to drench it in heavy moistureisers, and facial oils.

This sometimes works fine, and other times leaves my skin feeling even more irritated.

I recently went for a facial where my therapist told me that while I may think my skin type is dry (as this is what it feels like), she actually reckoned that my skin type is normal, but that my facial skin was rather dehydrated. Which, apparently, is not a skin type, but rather a “state” of the skin, and something which can affect us all from time to time.

And then she explained that I might have been choosing products that were far too heavy for my skin, and that this in turn has made my skin suffer from dehydration and feel rather irritated. What I should have been doing, she revealed, is to opt for products that are made to combat dehydration – without being heavy or irritating my sometimes sensitive skin.

Following her advice, I ordered a serum from Pai – a skincare brand I am a big fan of, as they are organic and environmental friendly too.

The Back to Life Hydration Serum was not cheap (€54), but I was assured I would not regret spending my money – and boy was she rigth.

Writing about beauty for a living, I have tried my fair share of serums, and for the most part, been rather underwhelmed, to be honest. Some are too oily and feel like they don’t penerate my skin at all. Others sink in, but doesn’t really make a difference to my skin, certainly not in the way it was promised. It seems finding a serum to combat dehydration can be a challenge when you have sensitive skin.

This one was different.

Not only did it sink into my skin quickly, it also made it feel immediately nourished and did not irritate my skin in the slightest.

After application, my skin immediately feels better and less tight, and within a week, the dry patches around my nose and on my cheeks are reduced. My skin looks visibly more radiant, and it feels different now even putting makeup on, simply because my skin doesn’t feel so dry anymore.

According to Pai, the secret is a blend of three indigenous Australian berries, rich in antioxidants, which all help support the skin’s natural moisture barrier and protect against moisture loss.

Hyaluronic Acid is a big buzzword when it comes to skin moisturisation, and in the Back to Life Hydration Serum, the ultra low molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid hold as much as 1000 x their weight in water and help bind it to the skin, keeping it healthy and plumped.

Even better? I have used the serum for two months now, and there is still some product left in the bottle.

In other words – if you are looking to spend some money on a skincare product that actually does what it says on the box this autumn, I cannot recommend this one enough.
