Here’s a wrapping paper game to turn Christmas morning into the ultimate treasure hunt

Melissa Carton

Such a clever idea.

Between Elf on the Shelf and leaving out snacks for Santa and his reindeer, there’s so many little Christmas traditions that help make the season extra special.

Still come Christmas day itself you still want things to be as exciting and magical as the run up was and this little trick will help you do just that.

It’s really fun idea and all you need is different kinds of wrapping paper.

Brilliant isn’t it?

All you need to do to start this Christmas morning tradition is buy different patterned or coloured wrapping paper.

Designate a different design to each of your children instead of writing their names on their gifts, but don’t tell them what design they are.

For them to find out what wrapping paper is theirs they will have to search for a scrap of their designated paper in the bottom of their Christmas stocking.

Then let the treasure hunt begin!

I think it’s a great way to give the magic of Christmas to children of all ages.

It includes teenagers who have grown out of Elves and Santa to still have as much fun as the younger kids come Christmas morning.

It’s also a brilliant way for smaller children who can’t read their name yet to be able to find their gifts but get to play a game while doing it.

You can even do it for the adults in your home if you really wanted to involve the whole family in the fun.

It’s definitely something that I will be trying with my kids this Christmas.
