The top 20 European destinations for 2019 has been revealed
Spring is the perfect time for a little getaway.
I mean; at this stage we are all longing for not only a little sliver of blue sky, but also a bit of change of scenery, no?
That's what January (God, that month was long AF) can do to a person, I guess.
The good news is that Europe and all it's amazing towns and cities is on our doorstep – and right now, the 20 best destinations in Europe for 2019 has been revealed – and guys, there are some real gems on that list.
For its tenth edition, the competition ran by the website European Best Destinations, collected a record of more than 500,000 votes for the trendiest destinations in Europe that will be promoted throughout the year to millions of travelers - and will be authorized to display the title "European Best Destination" in their marketing.
The winner? The stunning city of Budapest, which, to anyone who has ever been, will hardly come as a surprise.
According to Forbes, EBD works with the European Commission to promote sustainable tourism, and organizes some of the main tourism competitions in Europe, including Best European Christmas Markets, Best European Beaches, Most Romantic destinations and Best European Ski Resorts.
The results of the competitions translate into “significant growth of tourists for our rewarded destinations,” according to a EBD statement. “With + 16% in growth of tourism for Porto awarded in 2017, + 13% for Bordeaux awarded in 2015, + 25% for Zadar awarded in 2016, +11% for Wroclaw awarded the title of Best European Destination 2018."
