The ONE night cream that actually made me look like I slept for eight solid hours

If you thought the whole saying about ‘getting your beauty sleep’ was just that – a saying – then think again.

Having written about beauty and interviewed countless experts and skincare professionals over the past decade, I now know the importance of a good night’s sleep when it comes to your complexion.

No, really. You know it’s true too – you have probably experienced it time and time again yourself. If you don’t sleep enough, your skin looks nothing short of dreadful the next day. And do you know why? Because it is during the night that our skin (and the cells in our body in general) renew themselves.

In fact, there is a whole lot of science behind why we really need to get serious about getting enough shuteye – especially if we are concerned about our complexion and how it looks.

At night, the levels of cortisol, our ‘stress hormone’ decreases, which helps your skin repair daytime damage. As well as this, it is also when we sleep that our bodies make more collagen, which minimizes fine lines. More human growth hormone is also released when we sleep, increasing muscle mass and strengthening the skin at the same time.

In other words – the time you spend asleep in your bed is the most important time of day for your skin.

And if you want to help nature a little bit, there are also night creams. But guys – these are not all made equal – trust me. And if you want to wake up to more beautiful, younger-looking skin, you need to choose wisely.

Over the years, I have tested out countless creams and serums, and while some have been OK, none up until now have impressed me to the extent where I can confidently say this actually made a real, visible difference to my skin.

But this new cream did. Oh, how it did.

The It Cosmetics Confidence In Your Beauty Sleep impressed me first of all with how lovely it felt to apply, and how my skin, even just after one night, looked both firmer and plumper – and literally as if I had slept for a solid 10 years, which, let me assure you, I had not.

Infused with ceramides, hyaluronic acid and a soothing lavender scent, Confidence in Your Beauty Sleep felt like the perfect last step in my night-time skincare routine – the scent alone was enough to make me feel all relaxed and ready for bed.

But what really blew me away – and made me realise that all night creams are indeed not cut from the same cloth, was the unique technology with the Confidence in Your Beauty Sleep that ensured that the product stayed on my face all night and did not just end up all over my pillow!

Instead, come morning, my skin felt smooth and moisturised, as in; the cream had really had a chance to sink into my skin while I slept, and the difference compared to other products was vast.

This face cream is infused with Persian silk tree bark extract, which helps with the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, uneven texture and dryness. Formulated to visibly address the top signs of ageing while you sleep and enhances your skin’s natural surface cell renewal, this means you wake up looking more refreshed and well-rested.

If you have been looking for a face cream, I cannot recommend this one enough – and if you are a mum, like me, who never really gets the luxury of a full eight hours, I think you have just found the perfect Mother’s Day present for yourself!
