The scrapes and bruises never end.

At least that’s what it seems like once summer hits. The kids are outside, running around, climbing things, playing sports – accidents are bound to happen and they do.

Now, often these little bumps can be fixed either by blowing on them or with a magical mummy’s kiss (so powerful, those), but on the occasions that they are that bit worse, it’s important to make sure that you give them the proper care that they need.

It’s not just a simple task of applying a plaster for a few days, although plasters are definitely an important part of the process. In order for the plaster to do its job properly, the wound must be cleaned first.

Elastoplast has put together a helpful three-step guide to help you treat your little one’s cuts and scratches (and your own too, for that matter).

Cleanse: A wound must be cleaned and cleansed as the first healing step. Cleanse the wound from dirt, bacteria, and visible particles with a wound spray to prevent infections.

Protect: Next, you need to protect the wound from dirt and bacteria so that it has the chance to heal undisturbed. Cover the wound with a plaster or dressing.

Heal: Lastly, you can help the wound to heal faster and with a lower risk of scarring by applying a wound healing ointment regularly, in between daily plaster changes, until the wound has healed completely.

In the current situation, it’s crucial to make sure that all wounds, even superficial ones, are healed as well as possible to prevent any unnecessary trips to the doctor or the hospital. By following Elastoplast’s healing routine, you can make sure those little scrapes heal up faster to reduce the chance of nasty infections.

To cleanse your little one’s wound, use the Elastoplast Wound Spray for a fast and pain-free application that is skin-friendly. To protect their wound while it heals, use the Elastoplast Plasters or Elastoplast Wound Dressing, depending on the size or location of the wound. Finally, to aid healing and reduce scarring, apply their Elastoplast Wound Healing Ointment. It’s free of preservatives, colourants and fragrances, and is suitable for babies and children.

At this time, it’s so important for everyone to stay safe, healthy, and free from infection. Elastoplast helps you by making sure those seemingly-small bumps stay harmless and by preventing them from turning into anything more serious.
