Tamara Ecclestone has revealed the age she plans to stop breastfeeding her daughter.

The mum has been criticised in the past for her decision to continue breastfeeding now four-year-old Sophia.

Tne model said that she still feeds her daughter this way a few times a week to help her get to sleep.

Speaking to Jo Elvin on her podcast ‘Is It Just Me?’, Ecclestone said that she is planning to stop breastfeeding Sophia when she is four-and-a-half, which will be in September.

She said:

“I think the end is pretty close because now it’s something that’s just at night times and it’s not even every night.

“It’s when she’s really tired – a comfort thing – or when she’s maybe a bit under the weather so I definitely think that, probably after the summer, she’ll be done.

“It’s very natural and I don’t feel like it’s been forced or it’s abrupt. I feel completely ready and I think that it’s because it’s her decision.”

Ecclestone also said that breastfeeding had been “a big part” of her’s and Sophia’s lives and that she knows it has brought them closer together.

This comes after the socialite revealed last year that she hadn’t been away from her daughter for more than a few minutes for three years.

She said that she “cried my eyes out” when she had to leave her daughter at nursery for the first time.

“Until January, when I first took her to nursery, the longest we had ever been apart was six and a half minutes, when I went on a television show,” Tamara told The Telegraph.

“The first few days she went, I sat outside in the car and cried my eyes out. My husband thinks I’m insane. But I missed her.

“My daughter isn’t just part of my life, she is my life.”
