Could we be any less surprised?

Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer have admitted to having feelings for each other while filming Friends, which is really no surprise considering the chemistry the pair boasted throughout the show’s entirety.

The sitcom’s inevitable will-they-won’t-they? couple, Ross and Rachel’s relationship was the source of adoration, frustration, and countless debates over the years (and no, they weren’t on a break, let’s just stop talking about it, please).

The pair eventually ended up together after Rachel famously got off the plane, leading to much delight among audiences everywhere. And now stars Aniston and Schwimmer have given fans something else to bask in.

During the eagerly anticipated Friends reunion, the pair said that while filming the series they had “major crushes” on each other.

Host James Corden asked the cast whether any off-set romances occurred on the show, to which Jen responded: “Well, I mean… David.”

Schwimmer elaborated: “The first season I had a major crush on Jen.”

“And I think at some point we both crushing hard on each other, but it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship. We never crossed that boundary. We respected that.”

David went on: “I thought back on the very first year or two when we had breaks from rehearsal, there were moments when we would cuddle on a couch. And I’m thinking, ‘how did everyone not know that we were crushing on each other?’”

Jen added: “It was reciprocal. Honestly I remember saying one time to David, ‘It’s going to be such a bummer if the first time you and I actually kiss is going to be on national television’.

“Sure enough the first time that we kissed was in that coffee shop. So we just channelled all our adoration and love for each other into Ross and Rachel.”

The Friends reunion is available to watch now on NOW TV, or tonight at 8pm on Sky One.
