Frozen ‘champagne’ drink pulled from shelves following criticism

A non-alcoholic Frozen ‘champagne’ drink has been pulled following backlash from some parents and alcohol awareness campaigners.

The product, previously sold on HomeBargains.co.uk, is a non-alcoholic sparkling grape juice and comes in a champagne bottle covered in characters from the hit film.

However it has now been pulled (and will be discontinued from April 2016) following criticism from alcohol awareness groups who believe it could have a bad influence on children by normalising alcohol consumption.

A statement from Disney said:  “We have recently been made aware of the Vitpress Disney Frozen Non-Alcoholic Party Drink, a licensed product that originates in Poland.

“As we set very high standards for the quality of products bearing the Disney name and characters, we have informed the manufacturer that we will no longer license Disney images to a product that is packaged to look like alcohol.”
