M&S is selling Percy Pig mince pies just in time for Christmas

Have a Percy Pig of a Christmas!

Think Christmas, think Percy Pigs, now think Percy Pig Christmas and get ready for the festive season ahead filled with both.

The very mention of a Percy Pig makes my mouth water, so I am all in favour of having even more Percy Pig style foods around this winter.

And lucky for us, Marks & Spencer has launched Percy Pig mince pies for Christmas. ‘Percymas Pies,’ as they are now known.

Mince pies and Christmas go hand in hand really, so it was genius of M&S to jump on the traditional treat and put their bright pink Percy Pig stamp on it.

The actual pies themselves aren’t the typical traditional pies. For one, they have Percy’s face stamped on them and secondly, instead of the traditional mince fruity part inside these pies are filled with a Percy Pig flavoured jam.

The buttery shortcrust pastry is as delicious as you’d expect it to be. Since coming up with the idea the bakers in M&S have been trying to perfect the Percymas Pies and after a year of taste tests they perfect – and they are ready to be bought by you for €3.

April Preston Product Development Director at M&S Food said: “We wanted to create the ultimate mince pie alternative this Christmas to give customers choice.”

“And what could be more delicious than taking the much loved, iconic flavours of our Percy Pig sweets and making them into a pie… a Percymas Pie! If you like the iconic flavour of Percy and the style of a Bakewell tart then this is a must-try — instead of, or as well as, a traditional mince pie!”

I am not the biggest fan of mince pies, but I will be sinking my teeth into a couple of these over the coming weeks.
