Careers After Kids website helps mums trying to get back into the workforce

Melissa Carton

Such a great idea.

It can be intimating heading back into job into job interviews when you’ve taken time out to raise your children, so wouldn’t it be great if there was a website that helped get you prepared?

If you’re a mum looking to get back to work after maternity leave this website will give you all the help you need.

Careers After Kids has been specially designed to help mums succeed in landing their dream job.

Created by mother of two and recruitment expert Louisa Maglieri, the website provides courses that can be done at your own pace, as well as worksheets to help you master their courses, step-by-step.

The courses available aim to help mums:

Create a power CV
Succeed in interviews
Master negotiating flexible job offers for a healthy work/life balance
How to perfect a cover letter
Find a job on social media
Job search and application training

The one thing that will help working mums close the income gap

Getting back to work after having a child can be a challenge, especially when trying to find a job that works around your family life.

Taking time off to raise my children meant there were gaps in my CV which I thought would work against me during job interviews. It took me a while to gain back my confidence when it came to my interview skills and a lot of the time when I would start a new job I felt a huge surge of ‘imposter syndrome’.

I would have loved a website like this to talk me through everything and help me feel confident and comfortable getting back into the workforce.

The courses available through Careers After Kids cost between €11 and €30 and can be done from the comfort of your own home.
