“We couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive.”

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have suffered pregnancy loss due to complications.

The model and presenter took to social media this morning to share the devastating news that their third child, who they had named Jack, had not survived.

“We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before,” she wrote on Instagram.

“We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.”

Teigen was transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center over the weekend as she had been on bed rest and bleeding for a little under a month.

Sharing photos of herself, John, and their son Jack, she wrote that she was sorry that her son did not survive.

“To our Jack – I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive,” she said. “We will always love you.

“Thank you to everyone who has been sending us positive energy, thoughts and prayers.  We feel all of your love and truly appreciate you.”

Chrissy and Legend announced they were expecting their third child together earlier this year.

The couple, who have been together since 2006, have two other children together, a daughter, Luna, born in 2016, and a son, Miles, born in 2018.

“We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we’ve been able to experience,” she added.

“But everyday can’t be full of sunshine. On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it.”
