“Trickier than I had anticipated”

Camilla Thurlow has opened up about what it was really like to have her 10-month-old daughter Nell at her wedding.

The mum married Jamie Jewitt in a stunning ceremony at a country manor house last week.

The former Love Islands star said a lot of people were asking her what it was like to have her young daughter in attendance and she didn’t shy away from being totally honest.

Thurlow explained that she wouldn’t change a thing about her “heavenly” wedding day, but she did experience many hurdles during the day.

“I should also be honest, that it did end up being trickier than I had anticipated a few months ago partly because just before the wedding we hit a pretty difficult teething and separation anxiety period,” the mum confessed.

On the day of the wedding, Thurlow explained that her daughter wanted a lot of milk feeds from her mum throughout the day.

The 32-year-old shared a photo of her breastfeeding her daughter in her wedding dress, which has received heaps of praise from her followers.

“She wanted a lot of milk feeds from me throughout the day, in the evening she did want me to settle her, and then she spent a lot of the night awake.”

Thurlow explained that she faced numerous issues in the run-up to the wedding.

“It was also a bit of struggle in the last couple of weeks when a few things went wrong (like not having a dress) and not really having the time to sort them out.

“Every problem seems so much worse when you haven’t had much sleep!”

Despite her struggles, Thurlow praised her incredible support system who helped her in every way they could.

The mum wrote: “I had also made a lot of decisions to try and make life easier for us, like choosing a nearby location and lovely, reliable suppliers who took so much of the weight off my shoulders.”

She explained that the best thing she did was to focus on the bigger picture and to try not to sweat the small stuff.

“Kept my eyes away from the details and instead on the bigger picture of the whole day and celebrating love, joy, and happiness with our family and friends and it really did end up being the absolutely perfect day for us.”

Camilla and Jamie met on the 2017 season of Love Island.

They welcomed their daughter Nell into the world on October 27, 2020.
