Incredible news this morning.
After sharing that she had been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma several months ago, award-winning actress Jane Fonda has given a positive health update to her followers.
The actress announced on Instagram that her cancer is now in remission and she can stop chemotherapy, news she described as the “best birthday present ever”.
“Last week I was told by my oncologist that my cancer is in remission and I can discontinue chemo,” she wrote on Instagram. “I am feeling so blessed, so fortunate. I thank all of you who prayed and sent good thoughts my way. I am confident that it played a role in the good news.”
The actress went on to say that she is “especially happy” to stop her chemotherapy. She shared that while her first four rounds of treatment were “rather easy” and only left her tired for a few days, the last two rounds were much tougher and made it difficult for her to accomplish “much of anything”.

She then shared that the effects of the chemotherapy wore off in enough time for her to head to a climate change rally in DC.
When Jane announced that she had been sick with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, she pointed to the inequalities in the American healthcare system, and outlined how she would be OK as she has access to treatment, while this is not the case for many others.
At the time, she wrote: “So, my dear friends, I have something personal I want to share. I’ve been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and have started chemo treatments.
“This is a very treatable cancer. 80% of people survive, so I feel very lucky.
“I’m also lucky because I have health insurance and access to the best doctors and treatments. I realise, and it’s painful, that I am privileged in this.
“Almost every family in America has had to deal with cancer at one time or another and far too many don’t have access to the quality health care I am receiving, and this is not right.”
