Rumer Willis says her daughter’s name was inspired by a text error

How cute!

Rumer Willis, daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, has revealed that her own baby daughter’s name came from a misspelled text message with her partner, Derek Richard Thomas.

The House Bunny actress gave birth in April of this year to her daughter, Louetta.

Despite having a unique name herself, along with her siblings Scout and Tallulah, she never intended for her own baby to have one.

Speaking to People, Rumer, 35, explained that she and her boyfriend actually had a more common name in mind.

“We were thinking about the name Loretta, and it was a typo. Her dad and I were texting, and he left the ‘R’ out of Loretta, and it was just Louetta.”

“I was like, ‘Oh, I love that!’ I feel like it was one of those kind of divine intervention universe moments, and we figured it out actually quite early in my pregnancy,” the new mom shared.

Although she loved the unique moniker, the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actress did deliberate on whether it was the right choice for her first child.

“What was scary was, I love this name, but oh man, is it going to be her name? Is it the right name? What if she comes out and doesn’t look like this?

“I fell in love with the name so much, so early on, that I was then worried that it wouldn’t work. But then she came out, and I mean, to me, at least right now, I was going to name her Lou, whether she was a boy or a girl,” Rumer reflected.

The ‘versatility’ that comes with the name Louetta was a major draw for the new parents, and they took reassurance in the fact that their daughter can use other variations of the name, such as Lou or Etta.

“She can go change it up throughout her life. Whatever she wants.”

I have to say, I actually really like it!
