A woman in Arizona has died just hours after giving birth to quadruplets who were conceived through IVF.
Erica Morales, who was initially hospitalised for high blood pressure, was about seven months pregnant when she gave birth to three girls and one boy by caesarean section on Thursday, according to a report in the Associated Press. The 36-year-old mum never got to hold her newborn babies before she passed away early Friday morning at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix.
The babies, who weigh between just above 2lbs to just above 3lbs, are likely to remain in hospital for the next two months.
Childhood friend, Nicole Todman has set up a GoFundMe fundraising website for Erica’s husband and the infants, “to help ease the financial worry as much as possible”.
