The real meaning of James Blunt’s ‘You’re Beautiful’ is the opposite of what you thought

When it was first released back in 2004, James Blunt's You're Beautiful received so much airplay that no one ever wanted to hear it again.

While we all imagined it was a love song, even proving a popular option for the first dance at a wedding, James Blunt has since explained that it has little or nothing to do with romance. In a recent interview with The Huffington Post, the dad-of-one said that he often gets labelled as "the soft romantic" and the fact is this simply isn't true. If you did choose the song for your wedding or another significant occasion, you might want to look away now... Chatting to the publication, he said:

"You’re Beautiful is not this soft romantic f**king song. It’s about a guy who’s high as a fucking kite on drugs in the subway stalking someone else’s girlfriend when that guy is there in front of him, and he should be locked up or put in prison for being some kind of perv."
