People are furious over the caption of Kristen Bell’s Instagram of her kids

Amy Nolan

We’d hazard a guess that she’s joking though.

The internet can be a blessing and a curse. Kristen Bell’s latest Instagram of her kids shows us that mom shaming is still very real.

Kristen posted a snap of her two children at the Glamis Dunes yesterday and it was the caption that attracted serious controversy.

Caked with sand on every inch, unshowered for 5 days, and loving that sand dune life #glamis #camping

The Forgetting Sarah Marshall actress captioned the sunny picture of her kids on a camping holiday:

“Caked with sand on every inch, unshowered for 5 days, and loving that sand dune life.”

And people lost their minds.

The thirty-eight-year-old has two kids, three and five, with husband Dax Shepard.

People were very displeased with Kristen’s claim that she hadn’t showered her kids in five days, with some saying they found it “gross”.

Others were more supportive of Kristen trying to be real and wrote:

“I don’t care. Kids will be kids. My kid has been through the no shower stage. I will admit that I’ve been through the I’m way too tired to shower my kid or had a bad day or no time to shower my kid day. This whole expectancy of how to raise everyone else’s kid is annoying.”

And other mums praised her for giving her kids lovely experiences:

“The outdoors is exactly where kids and families need to be! It feeds the soul and slows life down a bit to enjoy the simple things in life! With so many distractions these days, I cherish the conversations had and memories made!”

We reckon Kristen’s caption is a bit of a hyperbole and even if her kids missed a few showers, is there any harm in that? We just think the mum guilt should be shut down.

Everyone has enough to be getting on with.
