As you’ve probably seen from your social media feed, today is Mother’s Day in the US.
Yes, across the United States, mothers are rightfully being spoiled with flowers, breakfasts in bed and, most importantly, love from their little ones.
While many mums will today be told how amazing they are, it’s hard sometimes not to feel like we could do better. It’s in our nature to put pressure on ourselves to do better, constantly worrying that we are not good enough.
But while we may not be celebrating Mother’s Day today, we think we should celebrate mothers every day – and the Facebook group Love What Matters agrees with us.
They asked seven mums to read a letter of encouragement from mum-of-two Bethany, and the results will have you in tears.
“To the mom hiding in her bathroom needing peace for just one minute,” begins the letter about being a new mum.
The two minute video shares some of scary truths about life as a new mum, truths we can all relate to in one way or another.
From being totally exhausted, to worrying you’re not doing enough for your children, the video has struck a chord with mums everywhere with thousands sharing the video.
The video ends with the simple yet powerful message – “You are enough.”
