One mum just made a face mask for the tooth fairy – because mums are awesome

I read a quote one time, about mums being magic-makers.

And it stuck with me – because isn’t it just so true?

Mums create Christmas magic, and birthday magic and everyday magic– and this US mum just proved this by creating – wait for it – a teeny tiny face mask for the tooth fairy.

When her daughter, Evolette, expressed concern about the tooth fairy and social distancing procedures, Kayla Westhouse decided to take matters into her own hands, and got her sewing machine out to make a mask for the tooth fairy.

In a Facebook post that quickly went viral, Westhouse explains she had already made lots of masks for friends and family, so she reckoned a fairy one wouldn’t be too much to handle.

“While I tried to explain the tooth fairy can’t get coronavirus, Evolette followed up with ‘how do you know?” and ‘let’s be safe, if she doesn’t need it she will just leave it behind and let us know in a note,'” Westhouse explains.

“So, I found myself last night at the sewing machine… Making my 178th mask. For a fairy. And now you can tell all the children that the tooth fairy is safe,” Westhouse writes.

So there you go – just in case your kids are wondering – the tooth fairy is protecting herself and everyone she visits during this pandemic.
