This feel-good campaign is taking a stand for parents

No more parent shaming

Sive O'Brien

It can be easy to question yourself when you’re a parent. I mean, you never really know just how you’re doing, do you? Well, not unless the experts (your children) let you know.

That’s why soft drinks manufacturer Minute Maid is on a mission to take a stand for parents with its new campaign #doingood. A statement on its website reads, “Let’s start a movement to change the conversation. Let’s help put an end to parent shaming. Let’s stop the endless pursuit of the perfect social media family post. Instead, let’s help parents feel better about their efforts – big or small.”

After asking real parents how they thought they were doing, the company received responses full of doubt until their children changed their minds by letting them know that they’re doing way better than they think.

See for yourself the emotional responses when the parents open letters from their children, telling them things like, “I admire your strength and courage. I love you so much,” and “I often forget to tell you how much you mean to me.”
