I am ready to burn my entire lockdown wardrobe – and here are the 7 items I am lusting after for spring

wardrobe updates for spring wardrobe

A year into this pandemic, I have started to feel about my lockdown wardrobe (consisting mostly of yoga pants and hoodies) the way I did about my maternity clothes towards to end of my pregnancies: Burn. It. All.

Seriously – I am so sick of slobbing around in athleisure around the clock. I mean; much as it is comfortable, it is also so, so boring by now – and I miss – oh how I miss – getting excited about dressing and getting ready for the day.

And so tryst me, come April 5th – I am mentally ready to ditch every single item in my ‘lockdown wardrobe’ – and give my spring wardrobe a total overhaul. Give me colours! Give me fun! Give me pretty!

I am ready to look at my OOTD and feel a burst of happiness again – and here is what I am buying for my post-level-5 wardrobe:

1. Flowers cotton dress

The perfect spring-feel dress. Even better? No heels needed – it works perfectly with trainers (see below) and is as ideal for a picnic in the park as it is for a dinner out with friends (you know, once that is allowed again!)

€49.99, Mango

2. Denim dungarees

As comfy as tracksuit bottoms, yet far more stylish. I can wear these working from home, popping out for the school run or even with a flowy blouse underneath for a (takeaway) coffee with the school mums.

€39.99, H&M

3. Pure Cashmere Colour Block Jumper

Yes, it’s an investment, but one I will treasure for years to come. This spring, I can wear it with the jeans below, paired with my denim skirt, or even throw it over any t-shirt or summer dress for when the mornings are still a little chilly. The pastel-coloured stripes are perfect for the summer season, and make me happy just looking at them!

€135, M&S

4. Veja Campo trainers in colour ‘White Matcha’

I don’t know about you, but I have been living in my Veja runner this past year. And by now, they are more than ready to be replaced. For spring, I am loving this ‘white matcha’ colour – ideal to wear with both dresses, jeans or summer skirts. A total wardrobe must-have.

€139, Seagreen

5. Straight High Waist Jeans

I have pretty much gone a year without wearing jeans at this stage, but I am now planning a slow return to this wardrobe staple. For spring and summer, I love white jeans, and these from & Other Stories are just so chic. I can’t wait to wear them with the Sezane blouse below or the M&S jumper too. A perfect addition to any wardrobe.

€69, & Other Stories

6. Calia Denim Jacket

If you have been on the hunt for the perfect denim jacket, you know – the one that will go with every t-shirt, summer dress or anything else in your summer wardrobe – this is it.

€91, Hush

7. Bacall Blouse

My Sezane obsession continues this season, with this sweet blouse topping my wish list. Seriously, a white lace blouse will work with pretty much anything, from jeans to skirts and even denim cut-off shorts. In other words; a clever investment.

€95, Sezane
