A great idea.

It’s so hard as a parent to watch your child suffer through teething pains. My toddler is currently cutting some teeth at the moment and she gnaws on absolutely everything in sight.

You want to help but you don’t want to give them too much medicine either. One of the best ways to soothe aching gums without resorting to pain relief medication is to give your child something frozen to chew on.

This mum put a different twist on creating frozen treats for her baby by adding breastmilk and it’s such a clever idea.

Casey Owens posted to Facebook last week demonstrating how she makes fruity frozen treats with a unique spin.

The clever mum wrote;

“Breastfeeding mamas! I started freezing milk into cubes and adding chunks of strawberries. Then put it in a mesh pacifier. It’s great for teething babies. There’s almost an ounce in each cube and once the milk melts the strawberries occupy him for a while longer.”

I’ve heard of breastmilk being used to soothe rashes and sunburn so I would imagine that not only is this tip great for making sure your baby gets nutrients but also gives them natural pain relief too.

Casey’s post has gotten a great reaction online being shared almost eight thousand times and it’s easy to see why.

Definitely a nifty trick to consider if you’re still breastfeeding your child.
