Mum shares photo of C Section scar to prove it is not the ‘easy way out’

Melissa Carton

Far from easy.

Having had one of my children by C Section and the other VBAC, nothing makes me more frustrated than way people call a section the easy option.

My section took so much longer to recover from than my vaginal birth and there was nothing easy about it.

It was major surgery. I lost a lot of blood and was laid up in bed for days afterwards. Don’t even start me on being afraid to sneeze.

You need help showering, getting dressed and of course, help handling your own baby.

Remind me again what part of that is easy?

Another mum who was also fed up of hearing that sections were the easy way out uploaded a photo of herself post surgery to prove it’s harder than it looks.

Kendra South posted the photo on social media along with the following caption;

“It’s graphic af. Buuut, I am SO TIRED Of hearing people say that a csection is easy!

Like STOP and try that shit again, cause it’s not EASY.

They push you past EVERRRRYONE to a little surgery room where you are FREEZING like Jack Frost Nipples cold. Your body literally gets sliced & insides are removed.

All to cut thru nerves, tissue, shit that ain’t even supposed to be cut, just to throw it all back into your body and tell you that all your organs will fall back into place within 12 months! SAY WHAT ?

I know , I know. But wait till you wake up and they want you to walk to the bathroom that SAME night, it’s HELLLLLLLL & they want you to shower ?! Walk the halls too?

Anyway, no form of child birth is easy. I give credit when due. Soooo props to ALL you mamas. We all brought life into this world somehow.”

I think anyone who has ever been through a section can relate to every point she makes in her post.

I especially love when she says that no birth is easy, which is true and mums really need to stop being pitted against one another.

We’re all in this together so let’s try to go easy on one another.
