Who knew?! Tackle dandruff with an item from your kitchen press

Cathy Donohue

Who knew?

Dandruff is a relatively common hair complaint but nonetheless, it can be very hard to eliminate completely.

However, it turns out there’s a relatively simple way to tackle it, by using an item you might even have in your kitchen press.

Camomile tea is a soothing drink, commonly used to relax and unwind, often before bed in order to fall asleep easier.

However, according to one hair professional, it’s very useful for easing the irritation caused by dandruff.

If you find that your itchy, flaky scalp is out of control, try soaking a cotton ball in the tea and then applying it to the scalp.

Speaking to Byrdie, trichologist Elizabeth Cunnane Phillips warns that this is only a temporary fix that will bring relief but only in the short-term.

To eliminate it completely, there’s a couple of steps that can help.

The first is to wash your hair more often as this results in a cleaner, healthier scalp and secondly, try using a purifying shampoo and conditioner.

Elizabeth also recommends that you think about when and why dandruff occurs, is there a pattern?

This will help you to identify any potential triggers and hopefully eliminate them.
