Kids still got a pesky case of lice even with school out? Here’s how to fix it

School may be out but that doesn’t mean that headlice have taken a break.

We thought saying goodbye to nits would be one positive experience to come out of all of this but, no, they’re out making themselves as much of a nuisance during lockdown as ever.

The one good aspect of this that we’re clinging onto (gotta find those silver linings, eh?) is that we can treat the lice without having to worry about the little ones going to school and bringing them right back home again.

If your kids have been incessantly scratching their heads, it is definitely worth giving their hair a comb and checking to see if any lice have made your kids’ head their home. And the good thing is, even if they have, it’s pretty easy to deal with them.

Hedrin has two products to help both you and the kids out if you’ve got a headlice infestation:

Hedrin Once – a fast-acting solution that takes just 15 minutes to work. This is a liquid gel formulation that is clinically proven to kill head lice and eggs with just one application. Apply Hedrin Once over the head while the hair is dry. Leave for 15 minutes and rinse. Then reapply, leave for 15 minutes and rinse again. Finally, apply conditioner, rinse, then dry the hair. Note: Hedrin Once doesn’t lather, so don’t worry about there being no suds.

Hedrin Treat & Go – a fuss-free solution great for children who just won’t sit still. A water-based treatment which rinses out of hair easily, without any greasy residue. The product is hardly noticeable on hair so you can apply it in the morning, leave it to dry naturally or with a hairdryer, go about your day, and rinse it off again in the evening. Alternatively, you can apply it at night time, leave it for at least 8 hours overnight and rinse off in the morning. This requires two applications (eight hours or overnight), seven days apart.

As lockdown eases up, we’ll all be going outside a bit more and, eventually, be interacting closely with other people again – close enough for those pesky nits to come right back. So it’s important to make sure we stay protected from headlice, even if we don’t currently have them.

To help you out with that, Hedrin’s Protect and Go product is perfect. A hassle-free conditioning spray, clinically proven to help protect against head lice. Apply it after every hair wash or at least twice a week – either comb through wet hair or spray on dry hair and voila, that’s it! No rinsing or anything else so you can go about your day knowing those headlice are staying well away from your and your kids’ hair.

All of these products can be picked up in your local pharmacy.
