Anne Hegerty on the reason why she was ruled out of trials on medical grounds during I’m A Celeb

Anne Hegerty has revealed the real reason that she was ruled out of a number of trials on I’m A Celebrity.

The Chase quizzer, who was the fifth campmate to leave the jungle, was often ruled out of the challenges due to medical grounds – which, in turn, led to plenty of fan speculation as to the reason why.

However, Anne has set the record straight on the reason behind the decision – and that it had nothing to do with her weight or her health.

She told Metro

“I was quite freaked out by the first bushtucker trial and only getting two stars. I could have got four, but either I couldn’t line up the numbers on the padlocks or I wasn’t pushing the spring down properly.

“I don’t want to go into more details as I’d be giving away production secrets, but the ‘exemption on medical grounds’ thing thereafter was really more on the basis of how I’d reacted psychologically to that one, rather than because I’m a fat lump or anything.”

Anne was voted out of the jungle on Wednesday night, followed by Nick Knowles exiting last night.

Tonight will see another one of the celebrities leave the jungle, as the final episode of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here 2018 nears.
