These toddlers’ Ferris Bueller-themed costumes are the best of 2017

Take a bow.

Life moves pretty fast.

It’s always fun to take Halloween inspiration from beloved movies, but when it comes to their kids’ costumes, parents usually look to their children’s favourite films – think Disney princesses, superheroes and minions – rather than their own.

Not Lauren Willis, though. The Florida woman took inspiration from eighties film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and dressed her twin boys as Ferris and his best friend Cameron Fry.

The resulting photos are just adorable.

The outfits weren’t too hard to put together, according to Lauren.

“A lot of the basics came from their closet or from stores where we already shop,” she told Babble.

“A couple things came from Amazon (like the hockey jersey and microphone), and I had Ferris’ vest made by someone on Etsy. We had been planning to get them a little electric car for their birthday so my husband decided to find a red Ferrari online too to really complete the scene!”

The backdrop to these photos is pretty impressive too but took zero effort and was completely free.

“We did the photoshoot in our street in front of our house,” said Lauren.

They’re not even two years old yet but this isn’t the first time the boys have paid tribute to a classic teen movie – they dressed up as Wayne and Garth from Wayne’s World last year.

“I think it’s so fun to do a double costume,” said their mum Lauren.

“So I thought it would be really special for the boys to grow up with the memories and photos of them doing costumes together every year — a little twin tradition that will be so fun to look back on.”
