Recipe: Chocolate Daim bar and whiskey fudge

Sharyn Hayden

The next time you’re in Ikea and ‘accidentally’ (no one believes you) grab a full bag of Daim bars at the checkout, eat half the bag in the car and feel too sick to eat the other half.. we’ve got just the recipe for you.

Of course, you’ll also need a drop of whiskey ;o) These little treats make for fantastic Christmas presents and best of all, they are incredibly easy to make.

Fudge 2

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Pour one can of condensed milk into a medium-sized saucepan
  2. Add 1/4 cup butter and 2 cups of chopped up plain cooking chocolate
  3. Chop the half bag of Daim bars into small pieces before adding to the mix
  4. Stir continuously on a low heat until everything has melted down
  5. Take off the heat and stir in a sneaky capful of a whiskey of your choice
  6. Sieve half a bag of icing sugar on top and mix together until all sugar is blended in
  7. Line a baking tin with parchment paper (can be bread loaf sized or a small flat tin)
  8. Pour in fudge mixture and spread out the top with a knife until the surface is even
  9. Chuck into the fridge overnight
  10. Remove by gently lifting the parchment paper out and chop as haphazardly as you please
  11. Put into small gift boxes or bags held together with festive ribbon
  12. Try not to eat it all yourself
