12-year-old girl rushed to hospital after scooter and vehicle collide in Walkinstown

A 12-year-old girl has been rushed to hospital after her scooter collided with a vehicle.

The incident took place in Walkinstown, Co.Dublin on Wednesday, December 1st.

It is understood the young girl collided with a vehicle on Walkinstown Avenue.

The collision occurred around 6 pm.

The road was closed off and emergency services attended the scene.

It is understood that no other people were injured in the serious accident.

A Garda spokesperson told the Irish Mirror that a serious road traffic collision took place on Walkinstown Avenue.

They confirmed that the young girl is alive and is being treated in hospital.

Her condition has not yet been disclosed to the public.

They stressed that nobody else was injured in yesterday evening’s incident.

“Gardai are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision on Walkinstown Avenue, Dublin 12 which occurred this evening, Wednesday, December 1, 2021, shortly after 6 pm,” they stated.

“A female youth was taken to hospital following the incident.”

They added: “The scene is currently preserved while Forensic Collision Investigators conduct a technical examination.”

An investigation into the horrifying accident is taking place.
