Roy Keane proves he’s a softy with gesture for sick young fan

A lovely gesture.

We Irish love Roy Keane , especially because of his hard-man persona.

But beneath it all, we know Roy’s secretly very sound. According to his autobiography, he was always there to help foreign players settle into Manchester United and sort out tickets for squad members.

He’s also well known for his charity work and recently made a special gesture to one young boy from Cork.

Roy took time to meet his number one fan, seven-year-old Tómas to fulfil the lad’s Make a Wish’ request.

Tómas lives with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a disease which causes malignant cancerous cells to form in muscle tissue.

Along with his parents, Tómas received a VIP tour of the Aviva Stadium and got to meet his hero in the dressing rooms.

Roy answered questions about different periods of his career and life as a soccer player and apparently wondered of Tómas was going to be a journalist when he grew up.

It looked like one hell of a day out for Tómas and his family at the Aviva Stadium and the boy even bagged himself a new Ireland jersey with his name on it.

A mighty sound gesture from the Cork man.
