The Brit award-winner says she’s ‘one of the mums’ now.
Paloma Faith welcomed her first child in December 2016, and while some of her parenting decisions may be criticised by others, there is one thing all mums can relate to and that’s the conversation the singer is having now that she’s a parent.
The 36-year-old says her career as a pop star means nothing in her new circle of friends.
“Once you enter the parents’ club everyone wants to talk about kids and all the parents want to say, ‘God, isn’t this difficult’,” the mum-of-one told the Press Association.
“It’s like you’re in this mums’ club of people just kind of going, ‘Oh my God, does yours sleep?’.
“It’s completely irrelevant what I do for a living, they all want to have that conversation with me.”
Paloma welcomed her first child with her partner Leyman Lahcine on December 5, 2016, and has been outspoken when it comes to some of her parenting decisions like her choice to raise her daughter as gender-neutral.
“I love being a mum,” she told The Mirror last year.
“I want two or three kids in all and they’ll be gender neutral. I just want them to be who they want to be.”
The revelation faced some harsh criticism from fans who suggested she had only made the decision because it was “the thing to do these days”.
However, since then, more and more have come out in support of the singer, saying that it has “nothing to do with anyone else how she brings up her child”.
