Life will never be boring again after you have children

The minds of children are weird and wonderful, so it’s no surprise that the contents of their pockets would be the same.

Many, if not all, parents have had at least one experience where they’ve gone to wash their kid’s pants, only to find something strange, inexplainable, and perhaps even alive.

To remove any embarrassment around the cherished findings of their children, parents of Reddit have shared the funniest and weirdest things they’ve happened across while checking their pockets.

The responses range from relatable to relieving, proving that children will find anything and everything valuable (if even for just a brief moment).

One parent admitted to finding a live snail inside their three-year-old son’s pocket, which makes sense given that he wanted a new pet.

It seems live creatures are a theme with young kids, as other family members also confessed to finding moving contents in their children’s or sibling’s pockets.

“When my little brother was in preschoool he put a handful of worms in his pocket and then forgot about them. They were discovered after the washer was finished,” one user wrote.

Meanwhile, another user added that their kid picked up and pocketed a garden snake, and yes, it was still alive.

One user from Iceland shared that when they were a child, they somehow got their hands on different currency.

“When I was about seven or eight my mum found a bunch of British money in my pockets. I don’t know how it got there and nobody else does either,” they shared.

Intrigued by the discussion, I asked my own mother the same question.

According to my mom, various objects made their way into mine and my two sister’s pockets.

Everything from stones, branches, shells, screws, and washers.

However, on one occasion, my younger cousin, Martin, who was three at the time, lined his pockets with something far more valuable.

He ended up with an estimated €4,000 that was taken out to pay the man who just fitted our new kitchen tiles.

After the entire family searched the house high and low, my mom decided to admit defeat and accept she had lost such a huge lump sum of cash.

That night, when Martin was being tucked in, he pulled out the wad of cash and asked my mom to mind it for him.

If that’s not a sign to regularly check your child’s pocket, I don’t know what is.

You really could find ANYTHING.
