Mum-to-be hosts ‘nesting party’ and it’s a genius idea

Kat O'Connor

A nesting party sounds like a pretty brilliant idea.

Baby showers and gender reveal parties have grown in popularity in recent years. The American trend was something our own parents would’ve rolled their eyes at, but it’s a lovely way to get your loved ones together before welcoming your son or daughter into the world.

However, one mum has taken the pre-baby celebrations a step further by hosting a nesting party.

If you find cleaning and tidying relaxing then this one is for you.

Instead of gathering up your friends to play ‘guess the baby photo’ and to eat little cupcakes with pink frosting, why not get your friends together to clean your home?

Nesting parties are a great way to get your house in order before the baby’s arrival.

One mum Lui explained how it works on TikTok.

All you need to do is write a list of things that need to be done, whether that’s organise the nursery, tidy the kitchen, clear out the wardrobe, and split the tasks amongst your friends.

This is a great way to tick things off your to-do list, especially in your last trimester.

Lui explained, “I don’t like being the center of attention. I don’t like playing dumb games. I just don’t.”

“It went wonderfully. We got so much done, and it made me feel so at peace in my own home.”

Lui hopes this trend will become even more popular with mums-to-be because she said she felt so loved after her nesting party.

Her friends worked so hard to ensure her home was perfect for the baby’s arrival.
