The best front door colours to help you sell your house

Anyone who’s been through the process of selling their house will know the effort that goes into making it attractive to buyers.

From taming the garden to giving the place a serious clear-out, the smallest things can make a big difference.

According to one UK property expert, the colour of your front door can be very important.

“Front doors are the first thing potential buyers see and first impressions really do count, so I’m a huge advocate of making them look brilliant when preparing a home for sale,” Sarah Beeny told the Independent.

She reckons that there are two ways you can go – bold and trendy colours or classic, more muted tones.

She says that bright yellow, pink and turquoise are all very on-trend and will give a house the ‘wow’ factor.

But if you’re living in a more traditional area or country village, best to stick to colours like deep blue, dark grey and sage green.

“These colours are timeless, and create an impression of grandeur which buyers love.”
