If you love shopping vintage then you’ll love what Dublin Vintage Factory have done to re-brand.
They have closed their much-loved South William Street store when owner Terry Murphy realised that they had outgrown the space.
Terry also had an eye on the progressive ‘kilo store’ concept of shopping and we caught up with him to find out just what that meant.
“Essentially, all clothing is sold in weight as opposed to per item, so one kilo worth of clothing at Dublin Vintage Factory comes in at €20”.
Shopping-by-weight is a huge movement in Berlin in Paris but the Dublin Vintage Factory are the first to embrace it in Ireland.
To put it into perspective, Terry explains;
“For €20 you can roughly pick up maybe one amazing heavy vintage top, a suede 70s jacket or maybe a blouse or two and a dress!”
They also sell homewares and vintage furniture and of course, they are big on Christmas sweatshirts at the moment!
Terry and his team have moved the entire operation over to a huge refurbished 1940’s garage at 57, Smithfield Square (a one minute walk from Smithfield Luas stop) and the store itself needs to be seen to appreciate how fab it is.
