This style of engagement ring is going to be huge next year

Cathy Donohue

You’re going to see a lot of this engagement ring trend in 2019.

As you may be aware, Christmas is a very popular time of the year for people to get engaged so much so that people have taken the time to do some research into the subject.

You can see why too as it’s a pretty romantic time of year and makes us all a bit more soppy than usual, all those nostalgic festive films perhaps, and yeah, you’re likely to see a lot of ‘we’re engaged’ posts over the next week or so.

Anyway, it seems that there’s one type of engagement ring that’s going to be very popular in 2019 and this particular prediction comes from an expert.

What ring is set to make it big in 2019?

Oval-shaped stones and pear-shaped diamonds are starting to increase in popularity and apparently, they could surpass halo rings in the next twelve months.

I mean, look at the sparkle on this beauty.

That’s according to Ken Leung, of Ken and Dana Designs.

Chatting to Who What Wear, Ken explained:

“Pear-shaped center stones are back! The Ken & Dana customer is also gravitating towards oval shaped stones as well as rose gold settings”.

Ken also says that vintage rings are likely to become popular and we’ve definitely noticed that antique choices are becoming more popular as we head into 2019.

He also predicted that halo-style rings would see a decline but we have to say that this particular trend is huge in Ireland and we don’t see that changing anytime soon, be it 2019 or 2029.

Different styles will come and go but it’s all down to personal choice and you have to go with what you personally love, never mind what engagement ring trends might dictate.
