Ireland’s newest sustainable retailer Lil & Izzy launch their new kids collection

Melissa Carton

These are seriously gorgeous.

I’ve written several articles about trying to keep my family and I as sustainable as possible.

While when it comes to adult fashion there are now a lot of ranges catering to sustainable and ethical fashion it can be a little trickier to find eco-friendly fashion for little ones.

That’s where Lil & Izzy come in.

Lil & Izzy is a stylish, Irish and sustainable children’s wear brand, which launched successfully last year and they have just released their second collection.

The ethos for Lil & Izzy is simple; to advocate slow living in this fast paced world, creating products that will stand the test of exploring by day and dreaming by night and that don’t cost the earth.

The SS20 collection consists of their sought after zip baby grows in fresh new prints & a soft palette. Due to demand these now go from newborn up to 24 months.

After selling out, their much loved car seat blanket is back in stock and complimenting knotted hats & a new bib range.

They have also developed a beautiful sleep bag, made from fine organic cotton that is naturally hyper allergenic. This comes in three sizes, suitable from new born right up to 36 months.

Lil & Izzy products are all designed by Wicklow mum of two Katie Brandon Byrne, with careful consideration for parents and babies in mind.

After spotting a gap in the Irish market, Katie went about developing her own range of organic babywear.

“After becoming a mother, I became much more eco-conscious. I started to really think about my options before buying from a brand. My youngest daughter Isabelle has hyper-sensitive skin and allergies and I found the choice of sustainable & organic cotton baby products in Ireland very limited. I really couldn’t find what I wanted, so I went about designing my own. Several months later, Lil & Izzy Boutique was born!”

Lil & Izzy will be popping up throughout the country over the summer, starting off with the Bump Baby & Toddler Show in Cork on March 15 and The Pregnancy & Baby Fair RDS Dublin on the April 5 and 6, with more dates yet to be announced! Likewise you can also browse their range on their website www.lilandizzyboutique.com
