“I just miss singing so much.”

Jessie has revealed the details of her Meniere disease diagnosis.

The singer said that she was left “struggling to walk or hear” last week and spent her Christmas Eve in a hospital in Los Angeles.

“I woke up and felt like I was completely deaf in my right ear, couldn’t walk in a straight line,” she said.

“Basically I got told I had Meniere’s syndrome. I know that a lot of people suffer from it and I’ve actually had a lot of people reach out to me and give me great advice, so I’ve just been laying low in silence.”

“I haven’t sung for so long and when I sing loud, it sounds like there’s someone trying to run out of my ear […] Now’s the first time I’ve been able to sing and bear it.”

Meniere’s disease is a progressive condition that affects a person’s balance and hearing. Symptoms can include vertigo, tinnitus, heating loss, nausea, and an intense pressure felt inside the ear.

There is currently no known cure or specific treatment for the condition, but patients can be prescribed medication for vertigo and nausea to help tackle the symptoms.

Jessie, who revealed the details of her condition on Instagram Live this week, said that although she is grateful for her health, she is aware that Meniere may affect her ability to perform.

“I just miss singing so much and being around anyone,” she said. “It could be way worse, it is what it is. I’m super-grateful for my health. It just threw me off. On Christmas Eve I was in the ear hospital going, ‘What is going on?’

“I’m glad I went early and they worked out what it was real quick. I got put on the right medicine so I feel a lot better today.”
