Baby names

There’s a new app that will NAME your baby for you and we’re not sure about it

Really?

There are plenty of factors that come into naming a child.

You might name them after someone. You might have a couple of names chosen depending on whether you have a boy or a girl.

You may even pick a totally different name after your baby is born because you’ve decided they don’t look like a Brian after all.

The list goes on.

One factor we never thought would come into naming a child was the input of a baby naming app.

Sure, there are apps out there that you let you search by different years and themes, but most of them are just there for inspiration rather than actual straight up naming.

This app, however, claims it can come up with the perfect name for your baby using its algorithm… and we are very intrigued, if not entirely suspicious.

‘Namey’ uses artificial intelligence and whatever information you input into it to come up with a name or selection of names for your upcoming baby.

Your friends and family can then vote on which name they like the best – fun for all the family.

All that being said, parents are of course under no obligation to name their child whatever name the app suggests.

That would be silly.

They can, however, input their own parents’ names, different characteristics they enjoy, name meanings, and letters they would like the name to begin with, and the app will produce a name that should be perfect for their baby.

Sure look, there’s only one way to find out if it works or not… and that’s by downloading it.
