Rachel McAdams is set to star in new Judy Blume movie

Our teenage dreams are coming true.

I feel for most teenage girls the Judy Blume books were a coming of age staple.

From Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret to Deenie, these books were a must have growing up.

It has recently been revealed that a Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret movie is on the way and even better, one of our favourite teen movies queens, Rachel McAdams, is going to be among the cast.

The Are You There, God? It’s Me. Margaret novel see the protagonist explore the issues faced by early adolescent girls going through puberty with everything from buying your first bra to getting your first crush.

Director Kelly Fremon Craig released a statement regarding the casting decisions and talking about how perfect the actors are for their roles;

“Abby is the kind of extraordinarily rare talent that comes along once a generation. The minute she walked in the room, she knocked us off our feet with her humor, vitality, and instantly lovable presence. We knew we’d found Margaret.

Together with Rachel McAdams’ exceptional talent for creating indelible characters that make you laugh out loud, bawl your eyes out, or both — there couldn’t be a better combination to bring Judy Blume’s much-beloved characters to life on screen.”

While a Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret movie adaptation has been in the works for the last couple of years (no doubt delayed due to Covid restrictions) the movie is finally set to start production in April.
