The woman whose IVF was secretly funded by George Michael announces her pregnancy

Amanda Cassidy

What lovely news!

A woman who had her IVF treatment funded by the late singer George Michael has announced that she is now pregnant.

It follows years of treatment which failed, culminating in her appearance on game show Deal or No Deal in which she narrowly missed out on a lump sum which she said she would have used for IVF.

The Wham! legend secretly contacted the show when he heard Lynette Gillard’s struggle and paid for her treatment.

She underwent 9 rounds of fertility treatment – all of which failed.

But now Lynette has announced that her and her partner have finally conceived successfully and they plan to name the baby after the singer who was found dead on Christmas day.

She told The Sun that she believes George Michael has been watching over them – especially since she discovered she was pregnant the day the singer died.

“Doctors have no rational or scientific explanation for why I got pregnant now after so many years of “unexplained infertility” so it does definitely feel like George is looking over me.

Nathan and I haven’t used contraception for the last three and a half years and absolutely nothing has happened, so it must be fate. If it isn’t, what is?

I believe in fate so his death and the pregnancy must be connected”
