3 Paleo PEANUT BUTTER smoothie recipes to help trim the waistline

My search for unique smoothie recipes continues.

Anything that whips me into action during a busy week NEEDS to be shared; however, I’m only interested in the recipes that not only taste yummy but are also wholesome enough to see me through until my next break… or longer.

The simple ones are the best. The ones with peanut butter are better than the rest. Fact.

Hit the shops this evening to pick up these items and embrace my top Paleo-inspired picks. Each recipe serves one.

1. Peanut Butter, banana and chocolate.

Ingredients:

  • 2 bananas
  • 1 cup of coconut milk/almond milk
  • 2 tbsp of cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup of natural peanut butter*
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 7 ice cubes
  • 1 tbsp of manuka honey if you want a pinch of sweetness

Method: Blend these ingredients at high speed for a smooth and creamy consistency.

Why it’s yum: Did you read the part about the chocolate?

 

2. Peanut Butter, broccoli and strawberry.

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 6 strawberries
  • 3 raw broccoli florets (steam slightly if the raw element doesn’t appeal)
  • 1/2 tbsp of smooth peanut butter
  • 12 tbsp coconut yogurt**

Method: Blend these ingredients at high speed for a smooth, creamy consistency. Add coconut milk/water to dilute.

Why it’s yum: The greens are SO cleansing, but the banana camouflages that. Make it. You’ll love it.

 

 3. Peanut butter with tofu.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup soft tofu
  • 1/2 tbsp of peanut butter
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup vanilla rice milk

Method: Blend these ingredients at high speed for a smooth, creamy consistency. Add coconut milk/water to dilute.

Why it’s yum: It combats bloating and is full of electrolytes. You’re welcome.

*You can use any other nut butter – cashew, almond, hazelnut, etc – as a substitute.

**Greek yogurt is OK if you are not strict to the Paleo diet morals.
