You Won’t Believe What Happens When You Combine Brownies And Cookies (Hint: It’s good!)

Trine Jensen-Burke

In the world of maths, two positives stay positive, which is why it is only natural to think that the same will apply to food, no?

And with these genius little creations, it absolutely does.

I mean; brownies are good, right? Cookies? Equally delish. So why did no-one think to combine the two until now?!

We give you: Brookies – the most awesome combination of brownies and cookies you simply have to try for yourself.

BROOKIES

Ingredients

1 box (19.5 oz) fudge brownie mix (or you could make your own from scratch, but why bother? They will taste amazing anyway!)
1/2 cup vegetable oil (like coconut or soy)
1/4 cup water
2 eggs
1 roll (16.5 oz) refrigerated peanut butter cookie dough

Instructions

Heat oven to 225 C. Spray 13×9-inch pan with cooking spray. Make brownie mix as directed on box using oil, water and eggs. Spread batter evenly in pan. Bake 20 minutes.

Cut cookie dough fourths; cut each fourth into four slices. Place slices over partially baked brownie batter. (Spaces between cookie dough pieces will spread during baking to cover top.)

Bake about 18 minutes longer or until cookie topping is deep golden brown. Cool completely and cut into bars.

You’re welcome!
