Christmas is meant to be a time of celebration, family and good will – unless you’re a character in soapland.
Then the holiday season is actually full of breakups, drama and death.
And with weeks to go until the big day, it looks like the Coronation Street cast and crew are already busy filming their Christmas episodes.
Although, based on the latest batch of behind-the-scenes photos, it doesn’t look like it’s going to be a very merry holiday season this year.
The long-running soap’s official Twitter account shared some snaps of what fans can expect, including a possibly life threatening situation for Jenny Connor.

The photo shows her lying on the ground, as Jonny and Gemma Winter rush to her aide.
There’s also a pretty ominous photo of Liz McDonald standing outside Streetcars, with another one showing Steve and Tracy having some kind of awkward stand-off.
Elsewhere in the photo series, Audrey Roberts and Lewis Archer are delivering some kind of news to the Platt family – and Shona especially doesn’t look too happy about it all.
It comes as Coronation Street boss Iain MacLeod hinted at “some big heartbreaking stories” this holiday season.
He said:
“[Christmas]’ll have some big, heart-breaking stories within that, it’ll have a big shock at the end and hopefully it’ll be a surprising payoff to those stories.”
