 Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been going from strength to strength since confirming their relationship last year.
But it turns out that the red-headed royal had a crush on the actress years before they even met after falling for her Suits character Rachel Zane.
So, basically, it sounds like Prince Harry has ended up with his celebrity crush.
The claims were made during Channel 4’s documentary When Harry Met Meghan: A Royal Romance, which chronicled the couple’s relationship from when they met until now.
Royal commentator Katie Nicholl said on the documentary that Prince Harry had been telling pals Meghan was his “ideal woman” after becoming a huge fan of Suits.Â
In fact, the royal is rumoured to have had a crush on the actress for two years before they met.
She explained:
“He had a crush on Rachel Zane two years before he met Meghan and the reason I know is because I was having drinks with one of his friends.
“She [Harry’s friend] told me she’d been on a night out with Prince Harry.
“He was single at the time, so she said, ‘Harry, who’s your ideal girl?’
“And he said ‘Meghan Markle from Suits’.”
The 36-year-old actress has played ambitious paralegal Rachel in Suits since the first series in 2011. She recently completed filming on the upcoming season 7.
