Recognise him? Former Emmerdale star set to join Eastenders

Cathy Donohue

A former Emmerdale star is set to join the EastEnders cast.

Stephen Rahman-Hughes will be a familiar face to Emmerdale fans for he previously played DCI Vikesh Dasari.

DCI Dasari appeared on the Yorkshire-based soap for a year from 2006 to 2007 and now, Stephen is set to take on a regular role with London-based EastEnders.

Stephen has been cast in the role of Adam Bateman, the local dentist FYI and he has his heart set on one character.

According to Digital Spy, Adam has been cast as Honey Mitchell’s new love interest, in news that will completely devastate her ex-husband Billy.

Apparently, Billy has been hoping to reunite with Honey, the mother of his children, but Adam’s arrival could put a dent in this much-longed-for plan.

Adam has another connection to Albert Square too because as a child, he was fostered by Mariam and Arshad Ahmed, regular characters on the soap.

In addition to Emmerdale, Stephen has also appeared on Doctors and Bad Girls and his first Eastenders scenes are likely to be shown over the next few weeks.

Fans of the show are sure to be interested in the arrival of a new face in the Square and we look forward to seeing what drama he brings, things are never quiet in soapland!
