Want to support the next Imelda May? Girls Rock Dublin need your help

Is there a budding musician in your house?

Girls Rock Dublin is a non-profit organisation that organises camps and events in Dublin for young girls hoping to become musicians.

This year they’re looking to gather as many instruments as possible for their campers. On top of that Girls Rock Dublin hope to create an instrument library for teens in partnership with Dublin Public Libraries.

After running two successful rock camps in 2017 and 2018, Girls Rock Dublin returns with a camp for twelve to 17-year-old girls and gender non-binary folks.

The five-day event will be hosted in premium Dublin music facilities Sound Training College and Temple Lane Studios and will be run by an all-woman team including musicians and music professionals active in the local independent music scene.

There are still places available on the summer camp and no previous music experience is required, it’s all about making friends, having fun and learning some of the basics of music.

Girls Rock Dublin are also planning to host a Ladies Camp women over 18 and as well as the launch of the GRD Gear Library, which will allow teens to borrow instruments from Dublin Public Libraries.
